Management

Responsibility within a team environment

At deas, management focuses on tasks and projects. Flat hierarchies are therefore essential to us.

Our employees are encouraged to take personal responsibility in their own thought and action – always in accordance with our corporate philosophy and at eye level with our clients. 

deas is headed by six Managing Directors, who operate with different focuses and from different locations: Dirk Meyer-Hetling (Cologne), Dirk Hemmer (Cologne), Stefan Köster (Cologne), Gerhard Kulbarsch (Munich), Jörg Schröder (Cologne) and Holger Wendorff (Berlin).


Dirk Meyer-Hetling

The graduate in business administration (FH) and trained insurance clerk has more than 30 years of professional experience in risk and insurance consulting. He initially worked for an owner-managed and later for a group-owned broker company. In his last position, Dirk Meyer-Hetling was a member of the central management of an international insurance broker in Germany for many years.

Dirk Meyer-Hetling, who is based in Cologne, holds the operational business responsibility for the industrial broker of the Ecclesia Group.



Dirk Hemmer

Dirk Hemmer completed his vocational training as a professional for insurance and finance and also holds a degree in business administration, specializing in insurance. After his graduation, Dirk Hemmer held various positions at Interassekuranz Sitt & Overlack GmbH (ISO) from 1994 to 2000, before establishing the insurance broker Hemmer & Felder GmbH as shareholder-manager.

Following the merger of Hemmer & Felder GmbH with ISO and the subsequent merger with deas in 2020, he was appointed to the Management Board. In this role, he is responsible for the customer segment commercial/multi-line concepts.


Stefan Köster

Stefan Köster completed his vocational training as a professional for insurance and finance, followed by studies in business administration with a focus on insurance. After completing his studies in 1995, he began working for Interassekuranz Sitt & Overlack GmbH (ISO). 

After holding various positions in the company, he was appointed to the management of the then ISO (now deas Deutsche Assekuranzmakler GmbH) in 2009. In addition to customer service, Stefan Köster has taken on other responsibilities within the Ecclesia Group, including the management of the deas branch office in Cologne/Düsseldorf and his role as Managing Director of Inter-Assekuranz Versicherungsmakler GmbH (IAK).


Gerhard Kulbarsch

The certified insurance professional joined deas and Orth in 2017. Gerhard is based in Munich, from where he is responsible for the business operations of the Region South. In previous years, his career led him through various senior management positions. He was the Head of Sales for Germany and Austria of Marsh, a member of the executive board of the insurance brokers Aon and also Südvers. Gerhard Kulbarsch has also gained international experience.   


Jörg Schröder

Jörg Schröder completed his professional training as a professional for insurance and finance at the Gerling Group in Cologne before joining Interassekuranz Sitt & Overlack GmbH in 1985.

After holding various positions in the company, he was appointed to the management of the then ISO (now deas Deutsche Assekuranzmakler GmbH) in 2009. Among other things, Jörg Schröder attends to international key accounts and is the head of the Region West.


Holger Wendorff

Holger Wendorff is a certified insurance clerk with many years of experience in industrial insurance business. Other professional posts along the line were at Allianz (Hamburg), Gerling (Hamburg), Kühne & Nagel (Hamburg), Allianz Worldwide Care (Dublin) and AON HRS (Hamburg).

Wendorff, who is now a member of the deas Management Board, joined us in 2001 - when the company still operated under the name of debis and later on under DaimlerChrysler Services Assekuranz Makler GmbH. Today, as a Managing Director, Wendorff focuses on servicing selected international key accounts.
